Terry were you disappointed with my last post? I’ve been here just over a week what did you expect?
Work is starting to pick up anyway and I’ve started running test cases to get this TR clean up job moving. I’m working with a fella called Sameeran and sitting in an office with a few other people working on the High Load/Overload area of the project so most of the TRs are related to this area. So what’s doing for the rest of the week then I hear you ask….well work wise I’ve got a software upgrade to do tomorrow and then hopefully get through a few more test cases this week depending on how well the upgrade goes and how much time I get on the hardware. I need to get a new ID card at work as well I got one then some one went and changed the card reader at the front door so I’m back to using the visitors entrace for the moment.
Other than that I need to go get myself registered with the local authorities tomorrow because I’m staying here for longer than 3 months so myself and another Irish fella are off to get that done in the morning. Haven’t made any plans for the weekend yet…..I intended on going out and taking some photos on Saturday/Sunday but that didn’t happen out of laziness so I think I’ll go for it this weekend instead. It wasn’t a total write off as I did manage to get to the train station and get myself a monthly bus ticket which is handy….no more making sure I have the right change before I get the bus.
I’m off to Copenhagen on the 21st because it’s a bank holiday weekend here so I’m going to fly up there and meet a friend from work who’s in Stockholm….apparently I should be prepared for a lot of walking. I’ve also got tickets booked for a Nine Inch Nails concert in Dusseldorf on the 26th of June. I need to find someone to go with me too….any volunteers?
That’s about all I can think of at the moment….for my dear mother and her love of food, there’s a nice little Spanish restraunt around the corner from my gaf so I’ve been there twice. Going to try out a few more places next week maybe there’s a lot of them dotted around the market area which is just up the street from my apartment.
Rory.
This is a better way of doing things, when Terry replies now we its only back to you and not to all of us. Glad to see you are making use of the local food houses. Did you organise a postal vote for yourself in the local and european elections.
Eoghan was a hero today administered first aid in the middle of a road to some girl who had an epelitic fit, a chip of the old block, his granda would have been proud. Most go now, talk soon.
Da, Ma, Sorcha and the two dogs
jaysis ror..any nice spanish girls in the spanish shop? make sure ya dont get swine flu etc etc
and no..wont make the 26th I imagine, have time off the end of june for my bday and whatnot.
least yours is going better than me…2 nights in a row mine has gone tits up at the precheck
He goes to germany and he finds a nice spanish restauraunt! Get some sauerkraut into yourself man!
Also I love how you need to register! Do they give you an armband and ask you for papers whereever your go!
@Denis…..yeah there’s a few nice ones in there alright. I think I’ll survive without catching pig flu some how
Hmmm TGC upgrades aren’t as exciting as they sound more so long and tedious, I found out that there’s nearly 400 TRs to clean up so I could be here for a while.
@Pete quiet you…..I’ve already had the currywurst in the Ericsson canteen an interesting experience
I’ll try some where else this weekend.
I think the Copenhagen plan might have to change, I left it a bit late to get a cheap flight and a train up there is almost 14 hours each direction so I think I might put it off for a trip to Stockholm instead.
Rory,
Can you explain the geography and history of Aachen and the importance of it to the wider German Ecomony. Good to see our mother is minding your culinary requirements. Your fathers right make sure to vote!!!. Well have you anyone flying in from Mexico City to meet you, if so, make sure to quaratine them for 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!
As for Nine Inch Nails, no thanks, now if you were visiting someone with nine inch heals I ‘d be tempted. Be good and eat well.

^^^ It’s getting late and I’m feeling lazy so you can read all about the place at that link. No no one flying from Mexico city to meet me.
I’m sure I could find some one with nine inch heals too if needs be.
Sounds like Germany is good. No word on the nightlife yet? The food sounds interesting. I’m sure you’ll get plenty of german sausage ;P. Pete has already had some ‘sausage tonight’
Sorry about NIN, that training course isn’t on any other time. Keep the updates coming.
really? nobody from mexico flying to meet you?
my how thing change
Pictures of Aachen!!. What have you learned??
@Denis….yep things change for the better more than likely.
@Terry….learned in what in what context? I’ve learned that the chicken nuggets they sell in Kaisers aren’t very nice. I’ve also learned that wurst is a good option when all else fails.
I can also ask for pints in German which is important. Now time to get back to work.
