Well a lot has happened since I last posted…..my parents came to Aachen for a visit, I went to Stockholm for a weekend and came back with a nice case of sun burn. Not much happened in my last 2 or 3 weeks in Aachen aside from the usual drinking fun and games. I ended up paying another visit to New Water (metal club) with Hardy and I had a good night, lots on NIN and Rammstein was played so hopefully I’ll get to pay another visit there 
I ended up finishing up in Aachen a bit early because my manager wanted me to go on a project in Saudi Arabia so I spent a pretty full week in Ireland….I wasn’t even sure if I’d be going to Saudi as myself and the others applied for our visas pretty late but we managed to get to London on work ID and pick up our passports there.
Myself and two other lads from Ericsson flew into Bahrain and then we got picked up and driven across the border to Saudi with a finger printing and photograph to go along with it. I’m here just over a week now and I’ve managed to get a good bit of work done with only slight fuck ups along the way 
It’s Ramadan at the moment but things are ok for the most part we’re allowed eat during the day as long as we don’t do it in public so room service at the hotel or if we’re at work we can sneak a banana or cereal bar and some water. The Ericsson Saudi MU (Market Unit for the non E/// people reading) fella took us out for dinner twice, the second time was pretty funny we went to a traditional Saudi place and he had his family with him so we were all herded into this room and his wife and kids were left on their own in another section which was a bit odd I thought…..try pulling that stunt with a wife or girl friend in Europe and I’d imagine it would be a pretty short relationship.
I’m staying in the Sheraton hotel now….the first one was the Carlton which is nearer Khobar city but there wasn’t much around it so we got moved here which is closer to work and there’s a few shops and food courts around so there’s a small bit more to do…..not that there’s much to do in Saudi anyway.
I’m going to finish this post now and write another one in a day or two with a bit more about the country in it.
ah now, no mention of the lads calling to see you…and the fun that was had
disappointed now.
